Being Dara
What's the Point
A question I thought I asked myself way too soon after starting this long overdue blog. At first, it seemed like such a negative question to throw at myself because I had immediately felt discouraged due to not getting enough feedback or support. I felt like no one cared because I’m not talking about tea cakes, makeup hacks or posing on Portobello road drenched in Instagram boutique fashion nor can I show you how to lay a frontal like a lower case ‘g’ god.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
–Galatians 6:9
That scripture isn’t to say tea cakes or posing outside beautiful homes are bad, it’s just too uniform in the blogger sphere and personally not what I’m here for. It may be harder to go against the grain and post some ‘unpopular’ truths but I accept the challenge and so long as Jesus is cheering me on like a proud parent at sports day it's a race I'll continue to run (I better see my husband clapping too lol). Alternatively, I could easily succumb to the pressures of this world to be ‘relevant’ and bank myself a couple hundred likes or even a few thousand if I bend myself a tad more by delivering you posts based on the above-mentioned things and flash a little flesh on top.
But to what benefit?
Would me sharing my November haul help you battle poor stewardship when it comes to handling finances? Or make you want to spend more in a bid to 'keep up', feel more on trend and potentially live life as a borrower instead of a lender?
Would me sharing pictures of every God-given curve on my body help you to be more modest or have you undressing and or lusting after me?
Could I help inspire you to be who God has called you to be if I’m busy fitting into the mould of the world when I am meant to be set apart?!?!

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
- Romans 12:2
In a world so dark we desperately need the light! Not another self-centred blog showcasing carefully curated products from brands that have paid for advertisement which some don't even believe in but promote it anyway. So when you come on my page I want you to experience something different, I want you to leave with your thoughts provoked towards becoming the real you. I want you to go and search for this Jesus that is the foundation of my life and undertone of my posts. When you find Him tell Him I sent ya lol (This is not an #ad and I have not been paid by Jesus to say this)
So ‘What’s the point?’ is a very good question to ask and will serve as a constant reminder as to why I started Being Dara and keep me in check if I ever slip up and start being someone else (did you notice what I did there lol)
If you've found yourself on a new venture in business, blogging or just stepped out in ministry. Remember why you started so you don't get lost on the way. Check that what you are putting out there is in line with your core message whatever that may be.
I started this to release the sermons I preach to the one-man congregation (myself)
I started this to share the Word of God because Instagram caption limitation won’t let me be great LOL
I started this to deliver the truth to anyone who cares to read it and give you something positive to act upon. Silver, gold or fashion tips I do not have, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk IN YOUR TRUE IDENTITY and do not be discouraged.
That's the point x
Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.
