2018 is well under way knowing we are 37 days into the year ALREADY?!?! The speed in which the days past by are no joke. It's practically Christmas again, (slight exaggeration) but the point I am headed towards is time continues to move even if we don't.

So considering time is no gentleman and does not wait or open doors for us, we need to get up and move with it. When I look at the definition of the word, resolution, I can't help but notice and highlight that it requires a decision to be made, and not a half-hearted one either, a FIRM one, so that may require some bravery and boldness, but we can do ALL things through Christ, right?

So, I thought I'd put together this practical list of 10 tips to help you be intentional and driven by purpose. To encourage you to be brave,  bold, beautiful all the while being YOU, having your best year yet.

1.It starts by making a decision and it doesn't have to be a grand decision. It could be a decision to start going to bed earlier, a decision to join the bible study group at church or to finally shoot your best shot with your business idea. Whatever the decision.

Commit your works to the Lord,

And your thoughts will be established.

Proverbs 16:3

2.Be intentional about moving forward towards your goal and eradicate procrastination!! They say it takes 21 days to form a habit and we have 328 left in 2018. Let intentionality in your endeavours be your #lifestyle.

I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:14

3.Have a vision, write it down and be driven by it. If you're unsure ask God, He will answer and show you great and mighty things that you do not know (Jeremiah 33:3). When the vision is evident, it will shape everything that you do. Walking in purpose, on PURPOSE

Write the vision

And make it plain on tablets,

That he may run who reads it.

Habakkuk 2:2

4.Be bold and brave enough to try. Whether it's to sing for God in the choir or dreams of having your own product in stores. The dream is free and requires work to get there. Trust that if God has called you to it, He'll be with you through it.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9

5.Discipline. In all of the tips listed thus far, discipline along with faith is imperative. Making decisions, writing down visions, being intentional,  bold and brave requires discipline. Flee from anything or anyone that will cause you to compromise. Practice what you preach.

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

1 Corinthians 9:27

6.Be yourself. Each and every one of us is unique and a display of God's beauty. He created us all in His image yet we all differ in height, stature, skin colour and character. You were put here to fulfil something specific, Jane can't do what Jayne can do.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

Psalm 139:14

7.Learn to rest. The things God has called you to do are not burdensome. There is grace to rest. Waking up early and going to bed late doesn't equal a productive day and can be a detriment to your health. You won't fail by taking sufficient time to recharge

It is vain for you to rise up early,

To sit up late,

To eat the bread of sorrows;

For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Psalm 127:2

8.Rejoice. Don't let your praises go down for anything or anyone. If you get the job, praise God, if you don't, still praise God knowing that all things work together for our good. This type of perspective cultivates a sincere heart of gratitude and shows God that you trust Him.

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Philippians 4:4

9.Leave your baggage at the unclaimed drop-off. Stop holding onto excess weight, that's delaying your flight to the island of betterhood. God wants to check you in First class but some past hurts, friends, and demons of yesteryears are trying to board with you. Let - it - Go.

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you

1 Peter 5:7

10.Pray continually, not just on a Sunday, but daily. Set aside adequate time to talk to God and read His word. Let prayer be your first point of call, not social media or your friends. If your feeling anxious pray, if your feeling discouraged, pray, even if you're feeling wonderful continue to pray. Ten being the number of perfection, I pray that through your own prayers and seeking of God's face, all can and will be perfected in your life, in Jesus name. Amen

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Philippians 4:6

I hope that these ten tips are resourceful and something you can refer to throughout this year. I pray that you will indeed be intentional, driven by purpose, bold, beautiful, brave and YOURSELF from henceforth and as a valued member of BeingDara.com, I wanted to also take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support, likes, retweets, words of encouragement and prayers. May this year truly be your best year yet.
