New Month, What's the Motive?

The speed at which we are flying through this year is no joke! April is already here and I cannot be fooling around with time. We literally just finished yelling 'happy new year' and the fourth month is already upon us. How is your year going so far? I thought I'd post this short one as some new month motivation. You know, new month, new motives and all that jazz...So what is my motive? I'm scrambling through my memory bank to remind myself and check how much of my to-do-list I've gotten through so far because I’ve yet to get a new vision board since my last one got destroyed by mould KMT.... and as I typed that 'KMT' God is now telling me off at the same time...

God: 'How are you kissing your teeth that your vision board got attacked by mould when you weren’t using it like you should have been? You wrote down plans, visions that I gave to you, prayer points and a list of wants but then hid it out of your own sight, so you forget but then dare to complain when it got destroyed and your desires delayed. I know and remember everything you wrote down, BUT do you?

“Write the vision

And make it plain on tablets,

That he may run who reads it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time;

But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.

Though it tarries, wait for it;

Because it will surely come,

It will not tarry

- Habakkuk 2:2-3

Well that escalated quickly! This post wasn't meant to go like this because I had something else in mind (according to my own plan). But God checked me mid-sentence and if I'm smart I'll allow Him to have His way. Whilst mould isn't something I would normally be referencing because it's disgusting and in some cases a serious health hazard, on this occasion just trust me whilst I trust God that He is going somewhere with this because I am literally typing as the spirit leads. As I'm now analysing this mouldy vision board thing, my spirit is ministering to me and showing me how careless I have been. (Bruh...this post has really gone left lol...but keep up)

I remember the day my husband and I wrote some notes together for the board. I put my dreams, prayer points and career plans on there too. One day the board fell from where it was and instead of me to put it back up... (my husband has demanded I expand on the whole truth and mention that he told me to put the vision board back, but I moved some furniture too and felt it wasn't right for the spot it used to be in) so I placed it down the side of my wardrobe and planned to put it back up but I never got around to it. I noticed it when I was cleaning one day and pulled it out and saw mould had somehow formed and immediately chucked it away! *record scratch* Just like that I chucked my visions, prayer points and written aspirations away without a second look. WOW, may the good Lord have mercy on me!

Something so minute like a bit of mould on a vision board has a much greater meaning if we were to look at it spiritually. Mould can represent a hindrance, a blockage, a festering growth that needs to be dealt with before it causes destruction. In my case, whilst it wasn’t a vast amount of mould, it was enough to make me get rid of my vision board, opening the door to me slacking on those important prayer points. It led to me losing track of my to-do-list, forgetting about plans on how to use my talents, and having blurry visions as the visual aid was no longer there. And if there is no vision, how does one know where they are going? If I am not rendering important prayer points, how do they get answered? This is not to say you MUST have an actual vision board to be consistent in areas or the way to move towards your life goals. But they are a great help in terms of visually reminding you of where you want to be.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he

- Proverbs 29:18

We all know if a plant isn’t watered It’ll dry up and die, likewise if dreams aren’t cultivated they too will die. If talents aren’t used they’ll be wasted and it’s just cheeky and displeasing to God who blesses us with great abilities to do nothing with them. I even urge you to click the link and read the parable of the talents from the book of Matthew 25:14-30

Let this post serve as a prompting for you to get back to your visions and that which God has put on your heart to do. Blow the dust off those talents you may have hidden away. Be motivated to stir up your prayer life that may have been neglected. Get rid of any ‘mould’ that may be trying to grow, causing you to abandon what you are meant to be focusing on.

Therefore He says:“Awake, you who sleep,Arise from the dead,And Christ will give you light.” - Ephesians 5:14

And that ladies and gentlemen is the motive! Tie your laces and get going.

- 2Timothy 1:6
